ABOUT US

National Engineers Week

National Engineers Week was created to highlight and celebrate the work and impact of engineers across the nation. It provides an opportunity to raise public awareness of how engineers improve lives—strengthening communities, advancing technology, and shaping a better world. Today, tens of thousands of engineers take part in outreach activities each year, from technology demonstrations to scholarship presentations and community events.

In Maine, Engineers Week is celebrated through the annual E-Week Banquet and EXPO, where engineers, educators, and students come together for hands-on activities, workshops, and networking opportunities that showcase the many ways engineers make a difference.

Engineering and technology professionals are essential to improving infrastructure, health, natural resources, and the economy—and to the continued growth of Maine’s industries. Inspiring future generations to pursue these careers is at the heart of the Maine Engineering Promotional Council’s mission, reflected in the annual E-Week EXPO and its commitment to engaging the state’s brightest young minds.

Maine Engineering Promotional Council

The Maine Engineering Promotional Council (MEPC) works behind the scenes to increase the visibility of engineering in Maine through the two E-Week events, the Banquet and the EXPO, where we attract 1500 +/- people each year.  The annual E-Week events are held at either the University of Maine in Orono or the University of Southern Maine in Gorham to cover most of the state.

The MEPC board is comprised of academic and industry members who all are committed to raising awareness of engineering through the Banquet and EXPO E-Week events.
